Role Summary The Field Support Specialist is a mid-level position responsible for delivering technical support and project coordination related to IT infrastructure in an operational setting. The role serves as the primary point of contact for all IT issues within an assigned region, ensuring timely resolution and effective management of hardware and software support. Emphasis is placed on maintaining strong stakeholder relationships and supporting IT initiatives that enhance operational efficiency. Responsibilities Develop and maintain strong working relationships with all organizational levels. Provide second-level technical support for desktops, laptops, peripherals, and related hardware/software. Support and implement IT projects and initiatives impacting assigned sites. Manage inventory of PCs and accessories, adhering to IT standards. Respond promptly to inquiries via phone and email, providing effective solutions. Follow up with end users to confirm problem resolutions meet satisfaction. Deliver user training to promote optimal use of IT equipment and systems. Collaborate with IT teams to deploy updates, upgrades, and new hardware or software. Install and troubleshoot Microsoft Windows 11 operating systems and standard business applications. Document all support activities and resolutions accurately in the IT knowledge base. Prioritize and manage a high volume of support requests, including after-hours support when needed. Maintain detailed service records and documentation for each case. Perform additional duties as assigned to support team objectives and operational needs. Qualifications High school diploma or GED required; a Bachelor’s degree in Information Systems or related field preferred. Minimum of 2 years’ experience in IT support, preferably within the Oil and Gas industry. Certifications such as A+, Net+, MCP, MCDST, HDI Desktop Support Technician or equivalent are highly desirable. Proficiency in troubleshooting Windows 11, business applications, and peripherals. Experience setting up and managing mobile devices (iOS, Android) and multi-functional printers (HP LaserJet, Konica Minolta). Familiarity with ITSM tools, preferably BMC Remedy. Strong interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal. Ability to work independently and as part of a team, managing multiple tasks effectively. Must be legally authorized to work in the United States Willingness to travel up to 80%, with a reliable vehicle and a clean driving record. Ability to lift at least 50 lbs routinely. Flexibility to work a variable schedule, including after-hours support. Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
