IT Data Analytics Intern

About the Program

Union Home Mortgage’s L.E.A.D Internship Program aims to provide a fun, interesting, and real-world environment for interns to Learn about the industry, be Educated by Sr. Leadership and their peers, Achieve their personal goals, and Develop their skills and knowledge base. The program offers innovative opportunities for interns to grow, including shadowing, mentoring, professional development, group projects, and corporate outings. Interns are treated like full-time Partners, working 40 hours a week during the 3-month summer program, are compensated, and are based out of headquarters in Strongsville, Ohio.

Responsibilities

• Develop custom reports and models that address business needs.
• Extract, manipulate, and visualize data across different platforms.
• Conduct exploratory meetings with business partners to generate ideas on how data and reporting can drive operational efficiencies and new business opportunities.
• Present findings and recommendations to different audiences, emphasizing effective communication to inform stakeholders for critical business decisions.
• Other tasks as assigned by your supervisor.

Qualifications

Skills Required

• Strong analytical skills.
• Familiarity with at least one relational database (SQL preferred).
• Familiarity with at least one spreadsheet application.
• Understanding and use of Business Intelligence and visualization tools (e.g., Power BI, Tableau, Business Objects).
• Detail-oriented with the ability to multitask.
• Self-motivated with excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Willingness to work both independently and in a team-oriented environment.
• Understanding of AI tools and their use (e.g., Co-Pilot, Claude).

Education & Experience

• Pursuing a 2-year or 4-year college degree in Computer Information Systems, Business Analytics, Data Analytics, or Economics.
• Junior or Senior standing.
