IT CYBERSECURITY SPECIALIST (INFOSEC)

About the role

This position is being recruited under 10 USC 1599f into the Cyber Excepted Service and does NOT convey eligibility to be converted to the Competitive Service. It has been identified as a position necessary to carry out and support the mission of the US Cyber Command. It is in the Professional Work Category at the Senior Work Level within the CES Occupational Structure. It is located in the DISA EII/RISK MANAGEMENT DIRECTORATE.

Responsibilities

• Help Evaluates Cloud Service Offerings and validates assessments conducted by Third-Party Assessment Organizations (3PAO) to ensure the system's operations are secure.
• Provides risk analysis reports to management for new and current cloud systems and networks to identify risks inherent in the design and countermeasures installed or required.
• Provides expert level advice on cloud computing technology in the areas of security architecture, systems auditing, security tools, and all areas related to INFOSEC.
• Reviews and assesses security products, procedures and requirements to ensure compliance with DoD Information Assurance policies and to ensure Cloud Service Offerings meet applicable confidentiality and integrity requirements.
• Defines mitigating controls and support efforts to document, test, and accept system design changes that might impact a commercial cloud’s security posture.

  • The position is subject to completing Foundational Qualifications in 9 months and completing Residential Qualification requirements overall in 12 months.
  • The position is a drug tested position.

Qualifications

• To qualify at the GG-14, your resume must describe at least one year of experience that demonstrates the competencies necessary for immediate success in the position.
• Experience in leading and conducting comprehensive IT cybersecurity assessments, validations, and risk analyses for cloud-based systems, to include developing and implementing security policies, standards, and authorization recommendations.
