IT Cyber Security Student Internship

Position Summary/Details

This position will be assigned to a team within our IT Security Department, which includes our Cyber Fusion Center, Governance & Risk Team, and Identity & Access Management Team at our Ybor Data Center.

Accountabilities

• Provide daily monitoring of IT Security tools and applications.
• Complete daily monitoring checklist.
• Complete root cause analysis (RCAs) documentation and assist with investigations as needed.
• Absorb and present computer/network-related evidence in support of network vulnerability mitigation.
• Absorb and document server and network reviews for current vulnerabilities/patching and AV signature aging.
• Document and update security processes and desk-level procedures for daily operations.
• Absorb and assist on projects that support the maturity of the IT Security Department.
• Absorb and assist with daily tasks associated with Identity & Access Management.

Physical Location of Co-op

Working Conditions: Mostly in a normal office environment
Physical Location of Co-op: Ybor Data Center

Preferred Availability

Preferred Availability: Part-Time (up to 35 hours)

Qualifications

• Education: The successful applicant should be enrolled in an accredited university as a college undergraduate or a graduate-level post-secondary educational program in a related discipline.
• To qualify as a co-op student, enrollment in the university’s co-op program (proof of enrollment required); if not eligible for co-op program (or program unavailable), the student will be considered an intern.
• A minimum GPA of 3.0 on a 4.0 scale is required.
• Degree: Cybersecurity or Information Technology
• Year in School: Freshman, Sophomore, Junior, Senior, or Graduate Student.

Co-Op Requirements

• A pre-employment drug screening as well as a background check (including employment, criminal and motor vehicle) will also be conducted as part of the pre-employment screening.
