IT Certification Bootcamp Instructor - Cisco CCNA

Location: Remote work must be performed while residing in California, New Mexico, Florida, or Massachusetts. CIAT has campus locations in San Diego, CA and Albuquerque, NM.

Responsibilities

• Teach synchronous online courses via Microsoft Teams, with flexibility for evenings and weekends based on the course schedule.
• Plan and organize instruction to maximize student learning and engagement, aligning with CIAT’s adult learner framework and emphasizing certification readiness.
• Modify instructional methods and strategies to meet diverse student needs.
• Employ appropriate teaching and learning strategies to communicate subject matter in a synchronous online format.
• Maintain current certifications in subjects taught through renewal and demonstrate thorough, accurate knowledge of the field.
• Connect subject matter with related fields and stay current through professional development, involvement in professional organizations, and attendance at meetings, conferences, or workshops.
• Design, update, and align course materials with college standards for adult learners, ensuring curriculum accuracy and relevance.
• Select instructional materials aligned with course objectives and review them for compliance with accreditation standards.
• Keep the student database fully updated and accurate regarding attendance and grade records.
• Maintain compliance with accreditation, scheduled class hours, and CIAT policies and procedures.
• Promote collaboration with staff and participate in new projects or initiatives.
• Adhere to CIAT’s business casual attire policy (neat, clean, no rips or holes; polo shirts are acceptable).
• Maintain FERPA compliance and handle student data securely.

Requirements

• Appropriate certification in one or more of the following: CompTIA A+, CompTIA Network+, CompTIA Security+, ISC2 CISSP, AWS Certified Cloud Practitioner, AWS Certified Solutions Architect, Microsoft Certified: Azure Fundamentals, or Microsoft Certified: Azure Administrator.
• Minimum of one year of experience in a training setting, ideally delivering IT certification bootcamps.
• Advanced subject matter expertise preferred.
• Synchronous online teaching experience preferred.
• Prior experience in curriculum development and instructional design for IT certification bootcamps.
• Familiarity with CertMaster, TestOut, or similar training tools is preferred.
• Effective presentation skills and high level of flexibility, creativity, and dependability.
• Good working knowledge of MS Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint), Microsoft Teams, and learning technologies such as Canvas.
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision, multitask, and problem-solve rapidly and effectively.
• Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to convey information effectively.
• Commitment to fostering an inclusive and supportive learning environment that respects diversity.
• Knowledge of current trends, best practices, and didactic approaches in higher education.
• Demonstrated ability to deliver engaging and effective lesson plans that meet diverse student needs.

Work Environment

This is a remote position requiring a home office environment. Employees must ensure their workspace is safe, ergonomic, and secure, complying with company policies for data security and confidentiality. Work hours and availability will be clearly communicated, and employees are expected to adhere to them. The company provides reasonable accommodations and necessary work-related equipment but is not responsible for maintaining home office environments beyond these provisions.

Pay

$40 - $45 USD per hour.
