IT Audit Manager (Federal Audit)

About the role

Sikich is seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented auditing professional with strong leadership and information technology skills. This role is contingent upon the award of a contract and requires an active interim Secret or Secret clearance or the ability to obtain this level of clearance.

Responsibilities

• Provide first-line supervision to a team of audit professionals.
• Review work products prepared by the team, including workpapers, findings, reports, and other written deliverables, ensuring quality and consistency with auditing standards and firm guidelines.
• Leverage understanding of Government Auditing Standards to design audit plans and procedures and oversee their successful execution.
• Act as a self-starter, delivering quality work products to clients with minimal direction from supervisors.
• Supervise and review work performed by staff, developing team members through effective delegation and guidance.
• Provide subject-matter technical expertise in financial management areas such as financial reporting, internal control, and financial business systems.
• Review draft deliverables prepared by engagement teams and present final results to management.
• Assist Principals and Senior Managers in creating proposals, business development, and practice administration.
• Leverage technology, including data analysis tools and AI, to increase the efficiency and effectiveness of audit procedures.
• Act as the primary liaison to the client, making Principals aware of all major developments.
• Utilize technology to share knowledge with team members, develop skills, and foster continuous learning.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree required; Information Systems degree preferred.
• Minimum of 4 years of auditing and/or related technical experience.
• Active interim Secret or Secret clearance or the ability to obtain this level of clearance.
• Management and leadership experience.
• Strong customer service skills.
• Project management experience.
• CISA certification preferred.
• Experience performing SOC 1 or SOC 2 audits (strongly preferred).
• Familiarity with FISCAM and/or FISMA frameworks.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel).

  • GAO Federal Information System Controls Audit Manual (FISCAM)
  • Office of Management and Budget (OMB) Bulletin 24-02, Audit Requirements for Federal Financial Statements
  • Other federal reporting and accounting requirements, such as U.S. Office of Management and Budget (OMB) bulletins and circulars, and the U.S. Standard General Ledger (USSGL)

Pay

The midpoint of the salary range for this role is $130,000. Final offer amount may vary based on factors including but not limited to experience and geographic location.
