About the role
This is an end-to-end role working at the intersection of software engineering, AI, and business problem-solving. The position owns solutions from problem discovery to production, collaborating directly with internal stakeholders to understand business needs, shape solutions, and deliver systems that create measurable value. Responsibilities include analysis, design, development, implementation, and modification of application programs, as well as providing technical support.
As an Advanced AI Programmer Analyst, you will support major cross-functional projects with complex business challenges, offering broad organizational impact and opportunities for competitive advantage. You may solve highly technical problems and serve as a consultant for other projects. Direction is provided by the immediate manager regarding priorities, business requirements, and technical specifications.
You will lead activities by coordinating development, systems integration, and end-user testing, including planning, execution, issue resolution, scope control, and adjustments. The role requires working with project teams to document, prioritize, and resolve issues to ensure timely completion of testing deliverables. Development and implementation demand a broad understanding of application architecture and integration with business systems, including feasibility and economic analysis to evaluate cost and bottom-line impact.
This position reports to the Manager of IT Business Applications and requires up to 25% domestic and international travel, including overnight stays.
Responsibilities
- Apply Agile, Waterfall, or similar methodologies to develop solutions.
- Own AI-driven software solutions end-to-end, from problem discovery and stakeholder interviews through design, development, and deployment.
- Work directly with internal business teams to understand workflows, pain points, and opportunities for automation and optimization.
- Design, build, and operate end-to-end, cloud-native systems, including scalable backend services in Python, modern frontends using Angular or React, and secure, reliable infrastructure.
- Collaborate with the Data Science team to integrate models, optimization algorithms, and AI agents into production systems.
- Balance rapid experimentation with production-grade engineering practices in a real-world industrial environment.
- Perform systems analysis and design, document, develop, implement, and maintain complex application development with minimal supervision.
- Ensure systems adhere to departmental standards, including appropriate controls, audit trails, and thorough testing before production deployment.
- Identify and document gaps between current and future business processes.
- Analyze and translate user requirements into technical designs and development projects.
- Develop technical architecture and code for applications, including database, scripting, and user interface design.
- Assist Business Analysts and other Programmers in identifying fields for data conversion.
- Lead project teams and end users in data validation and quality execution.
- Monitor and assist in user acceptance testing.
- Provide ongoing application technical support and participate in application training.
- Deliver documentation, technical specifications, and infrastructure requirements for each development project.
- Continuously monitor industry trends, standards, and technologies; research, recommend, and apply new technologies.
- Perform feasibility analysis considering technical, infrastructural, organizational, and economic aspects of alternative solutions.
- Conduct project management activities, including task identification, effort estimation, task sequencing, critical path analysis, resource assignment, and conflict resolution.
- Stay informed of and apply best practices in design, system development, and production monitoring.
Requirements
- Preferred bachelor’s degree with 6+ years of relevant experience or associate’s degree with 8+ years of relevant experience.
- Proven experience as a Full Stack Developer.
- Strong expertise in cloud infrastructure and cloud-native system design.
- Hands-on experience with Angular and/or React & Azure-based programming.
- Experience building or deploying AI-enabled or data-intensive systems (advantage).
- Experience developing internal enterprise platforms or tools (advantage).
- Demonstrated ability to take ownership of projects end-to-end.
- Experience developing Azure Logic App, Function App, Storage, and static web app programming skills, ADFS, and Azure development.
- Strong Python development experience.
- Proficiency in Asp.Net4, VB.Net, C#.net, ADO.Net, Entity Framework, MFC, HTML5, JavaScript, JQuery, CSS, XML, AJAX, PLSQL, SQL, ASP.Net MVC, Web Services, API Programming, and client programming.
- Working experience with GitHub, Azure DevOps, and AI-first SDLC processes.
- Experience with report building in .Net, complex SQL concepts with Oracle PL/SQL and MSSQL query languages.
- Experience with unit testing, integration testing, regression testing, test case writing, documentation, application troubleshooting, requirements analysis, estimation, and technical support.
- Service desk or similar request management system experience.
- Team and results-oriented mindset.
- Strong communication skills (written and verbal) and proficiency in English (written and verbal).
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s or master’s degree in IT, MIS, or a related field from an accredited university (highly qualified candidates).
- High level of initiative and self-motivation.
- RPA (MS Power Automate) and Power Apps experience.
- Understanding of IoT and GPS Tracker platforms.
- SharePoint portal designing and maintenance experience.
- CPI and BTP Integration/EDI programming experience.
- Understanding of Design Engineering solutions and products like AutoCAD/Inventor.
Work Environment
Work is typically performed in an office setting. The incumbent is regularly required to sit for extended periods, talk, and listen on the phone or in meetings. The environment is fast-paced and demanding. Domestic and international travel up to 25%, including overnight stays, is required.
The employee frequently uses hands to handle files, forms, and computer equipment and may occasionally move about the office. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 15 pounds when working with large files, binders, or computer equipment. Proper ergonomic safeguards, such as monitor height and keyboard positioning, are required. Specific vision abilities include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, and depth perception.
