Irrigation Technician

Responsibilities

• Ensures spring turn-on and winterization of irrigation systems.
• Completes various repairs and troubleshooting throughout the year.
• Manages and installs irrigation systems when necessary.
• Ensures a secure and safe environment for site inspections.
• Ensures the required tools and materials are available for projects including necessary inventory.
• Maintains and monitors the irrigation system in terms of maintenance programs.
• Collaborates with the Manager to coordinate repairs based on customer needs.
• Communicates with supervisor about next-day tasks.
• Utilizes application tools while moving briskly through uneven ground.
• Bends and twists to ground level while lifting up to 50 lbs. from the ground to waist level.
• Coordinates work activities with other departments.
• Inspects completed work to ensure conformance to specifications, standards, and contract requirements.
• Provides assistance to workers as necessary to meet deadlines.
• Completes daily paperwork: timesheets, work orders, and material tracking.
• Performs other duties and special projects as assigned.

Requirements

• Excellent verbal communication skills; bilingual preferred.
• Strong organizational skills.
• Possesses a proactive, can-do attitude.
• Maintains regular and reliable attendance at a level of acceptance to the company, including the ability to work overtime, holidays, evenings, and weekends as necessary.

Education and Experience

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Must be a licensed Landscape Irrigator or hold a current Irrigation Technician license.
• Minimum 3+ years of irrigation experience, preferred.

Physical Requirements

• Extensive driving required.
• Capable of working outdoors and visiting job sites on a regular basis.
• Exposure to temperature extremes from over 110 degrees in the summer to below freezing in the winter.
