What You’ll Do
- Operate, monitor, and maintain campus irrigation systems
- Perform seasonal system start-up in spring and winterization in fall
- Repair and replace sprinkler heads, valves, and irrigation lines
- Conduct routine inspections to ensure systems are functioning properly
- Adjust sprinkler heads to avoid overspray on buildings, sidewalks, and roadways
- Maintain inventory of irrigation parts and request needed supplies
- Develop and prioritize daily work plans in coordination with the Grounds Team Lead
- Safely operate equipment such as tractors, mowers, mini-trucks, and power tools
- Inspect equipment to ensure safe working condition
- Auxiliary with general grounds support and respond to campus needs as needed
What We’re Looking For
- A high school diploma or equivalent
- 3+ years of irrigation or grounds maintenance experience
- Valid driver’s license required
- Knowledge of irrigation systems, tools, and repair techniques
- Ability to safely operate hand tools and grounds equipment
- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work independently
- Good communication and teamwork skills
- Ability to follow safety procedures and work efficiently
Work Environment & Physical Requirements
- Outdoor work in a variety of weather conditions
- Frequent standing, walking, bending, and lifting (up to 50 lbs)
- Exposure to equipment, noise, dust, and chemicals (pesticides/herbicides)
- Use of hand and power tools and operation of machinery
