IRP Sterile Processing Tech

Job Summary

Responsible for the care and safety of all patients under his/her care. Ensures effective communication with the charge nurse, the patient, staff, physicians, and other hospital departments.

Essential Functions

• Scrub procedure as assigned.
• Aid in work area in central sterile between scrub assignments as needed.
• Keep the operating room clean and tidy.
• Ensure the room is cleaned, straightened, and stocked before leaving duty.
• Aid the circulating nurse in caring for the patient while in the room, providing nursing care to all patients of all ages.
• Check daily to stay updated on new changes occurring in the operating room.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or Equivalent required and Associate's Degree in Surgical Technology preferred.
• Experience with instrumentation in the operating room.
• Strong understanding of surgical technology and surgical procedures.
• Knowledge of medical terminology.
• Effective communication skills.
• Strong interpersonal skills.
