About the role
The Ironworker Superintendent oversees and directs field construction activities for assigned craft, ensuring conformance to plans, specifications, schedules, and cost estimates. This is an 8-month assignment in Rincon, GA (Savannah area) with per diem eligibility for those traveling over 60 miles.
Responsibilities
- Plan and direct work activities within assigned construction crafts, coordinating with engineering deliverables, tools, equipment, and materials.
- Coordinate craft personnel, material, and equipment to meet project schedules.
- Support project and construction management with planning and proper means/methods for all construction activities.
- Analyze situations, identify problems, and recommend/implement solutions.
- Ensure all work complies with approved scope boundaries and pertinent requirements.
- Foster development and advancement of project personnel through training and mentorship.
- Maintain craft certification, training, and technical knowledge for assignment scope.
- Adhere to company, client, and OSHA safety policies.
- Learn and apply local, state, and federal statutes and guidelines.
- Perform miscellaneous duties as directed.
Requirements
- 10 years of structural experience, with a minimum of 5 years as a Journeyman.
- NCCER plus Ironworker certification preferred.
- Completion of pre-hire and post-hire substance abuse testing as required.
- Safety certifications such as OSHA 10 or Safety Council programs.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Computer literacy with Microsoft Office applications.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Travel is required.
Physical/Site Requirements
- Lift and carry heavy items up to 45 pounds.
- Work in confined, cluttered, and uneven areas.
- Full range of motion and flexibility consistent with age.
- Work up to a 12-hour shift in varying temperature extremes and outdoor conditions.
- Climb and maintain balance on steel framework, stairs, ladders, and scaffolds.
