IP/OP Coding Specialist
About the role
The Coding Specialist III at Savista partners with healthcare organizations to improve their revenue cycle. This role involves reviewing and coding diagnoses and procedures for inpatient and outpatient claims, validating MS-DRG and APC calculations, abstracting clinical data, and mitigating coding-related claims edits.
Responsibilities
- Assigns ICD-10-CM and PCS codes for inpatient visits or ICD-10 CM codes for physician visits.
- Validates MS-DRG or APC assignments.
- Abstracts clinical data appropriately.
- Mitigates hospital inpatient or professional and technical coding-related claims scrubber edits.
- Tolerates short-term assignments for up to two different clients.
- Participates in client and Savista meetings and training sessions.
- Maintains an ongoing current working knowledge of the coding conventions in play at client assignments.
Requirements
- An active AHIMA or AAPC credential.
- One year of relevant, productive coding experience for the specific patient type within the last six months.

Benefits
Salary range: $28.00 - $33.00 per hour. Specific compensation varies based on various factors including geographic location, candidate experience, applicable certifications, and skills.
