IP Licensing Manager

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead global business development efforts to onboard licensees onto our blockchain-based anime IP licensing platform
  • Identify, source, and close licensing partnerships for our platform and IPs that get distributed on it
  • Develop strategies and execute on pitches to secure partnerships with key players in the anime ecosystem while educating them on the benefits of our technology and forward-thinking business model
  • Navigate complex negotiations and close deals with both traditional anime industry players and companies
  • Build and maintain a robust pipeline of potential licensees, managing the entire sales cycle from initial outreach to successful onboarding
  • Identify and spearhead entry into new strategic markets, both geographic and demographic, to expand Oshi's global footprint in anime IP licensing and fan engagement
  • Represent the company at industry events and conferences to expand our network and promote our platform
  • Leverage deep industry knowledge to inform product development, working closely with tech and product teams to translate licensing complexities and customer needs into key platform features that enhance our platform
  • Develop and implement KPIs to measure business development success, providing regular insights to the executive team
  • Hire, train, and manage a team of business development professionals as the company scales
  • Partner with C-suite executives to drive Oshi's mission of bringing anime IP licensing on-chain, identifying strategic opportunities to expand global market access and enhance fan engagement through our blockchain platform
  • Continuously deepen expertise in both IP licensing practices and blockchain technology to better serve customers, educate prospects, and contribute valuable insights to our product development process

Requirements

  • At least 3 years of experience in licensor or licensee roles within the Japanese anime and/or manga licensing industry
  • A strong understanding of licensing processes and design approval procedures
  • Excellent communication skills in English (required) and Japanese (preferred)
  • An open-minded approach and interest in exploring new business opportunities using internet platforms and emerging technologies like blockchain
  • Experience with or interest in cutting-edge technologies and digital platforms
  • Familiarity with global anime and manga markets
  • A strong passion for anime and the ability to align with fan community interests and trends
