iOS Engineer (Senior-Staff Levels)

About the role

Cantina Labs is a social AI company developing advanced real-time models for expression, personality, and realism. Our flagship product, Cantina, transforms storytelling, connection, and creation through lifelike characters. We seek an iOS Engineer to lead the development of innovative features, influencing the future of social AI.

Responsibilities

• Work with frameworks like UIKit, AVFoundation, Combine, Core Animation, and more.
• Lead development of new AI and media-driven features.
• Build and optimize video/audio pipelines, real-time media effects, and AI-powered visual features.
• Participate in Architecture meetings to ensure high-quality app development.
• Collaborate with Product, Design, and QA teams to deliver polished, scalable experiences.
• Take ownership of features, contributing to a large user base.

Requirements

• 8+ years of iOS development experience, or equivalent education.
• Fluency in Swift, UIKit, and Objective-C, with a strong foundation in custom graphics and animation frameworks.
• Experience writing readable, maintainable, documented, and thoroughly tested code.
• Experience with RESTful API integrations.
• Proficiency with Git and version control workflows.
• Basic understanding of Figma for spacing, sizing, and icon creation.
• Experience with video editing, real-time media effects, or AI-driven media features is a plus.
• Ability to translate requirements into clear, maintainable code.
• Strong communication and evaluation skills for engineering solutions and trade-offs.
