About the role

Thumbtack helps millions of people confidently care for their homes. The Customer Acquisition, Growth, and Engagement team (CAGE) is focused on streamlining and innovating around the new and returning user experience for Thumbtack. By adding value for users and meeting their needs, we activate them as first-time customers and encourage them to return for future home-care solutions. We accomplish this by refining core experiences like login and authentication while also building new features to better understand and address user needs early in their journey.

The challenge involves balancing scrappy experimentation with engineering rigor, as many changes are unproven and require data-driven validation. Cross-functional collaboration is key, and those who enjoy approaching problems from a product or design perspective will thrive here.

Responsibilities

• Drive iOS feature projects to completion, focusing on business and customer impact.
• Break down large projects into concrete deliverables and milestones for clear progress tracking.
• Collaborate closely with back-end engineers, product managers, designers, data analysts, and other teams to gather feedback, prioritize projects, and deliver solutions.
• Communicate project status to stakeholders, proactively raising potential blockers and risks.
• Explore new frameworks and processes while evaluating when (or when not) to use them.
• Participate in a culture that values thoughtful code reviews and frequent deployments.

Requirements

• Passionate iOS engineer with experience building, testing, releasing, and maintaining apps written in Swift or Objective-C.
• Proven track record of shipping consumer-facing apps that users love on the App Store.
• Strong cross-functional collaboration and communication skills, with the ability to keep partners informed and address blockers proactively.

Pay

For candidates living in the San Francisco/Bay Area, San Jose, New York City, or Seattle metros, the expected salary range is $210,800.00 - $272,800.00.

For candidates in Austin, TX; Washington, DC metros; or California, Massachusetts, New Jersey, or Washington states, the expected salary range is $189,600.00 - $245,300.00.

For candidates in all other U.S. locations, the expected salary range is $179,400.00 - $232,100.00.

Actual offered salaries will vary based on factors such as calibrated job level, qualifications, skills, competencies, and proficiency for the role.
