IOP Mental Health Counselor (SUD Program)

Responsibilities

• Provide clinical services to individuals under the supervision of the Mental Health Coordinator, Clinical Supervisor, or Mental Health Director, including individual and group psychotherapy, crisis intervention, and diagnostic evaluations.
• Complete relevant clinical documentation, such as clinical service reports and mental health treatment records, in a timely and professional manner.
• Provide mental health consultation and training to facility staff, including screening committees and psychiatric staff.
• Participate in staff meetings, in-service training programs, and specialized clinical services or program development activities.
• Maintain accountability for services provided through participation in the Quality Improvement program and timely and accurate recording of activities.

Requirements

• Master’s degree in a behavioral/social science field from an accredited college or university.
• Coursework and professional experience indicating knowledge of mental health counseling, group and individual psychotherapy, diagnosis and treatment of mental disorders, psychological assessment techniques, crisis intervention, and mental health consultation.
• Licensure in the state from the appropriate state licensing board, such as LMSW, LPC, or similar licensure.
• Maintain CPR certification and any other required certifications (such as First Aid).

Qualifications

Education: Master’s degree in a behavioral/social science field from an accredited college or university.

Experience: Coursework and professional experience indicating knowledge of mental health counseling, group and individual psychotherapy, diagnosis and treatment of mental disorders, psychological assessment techniques, crisis intervention, and mental health consultation.
