About the role

The Investor position at Samsung Next is designed for individuals looking to establish or expand their career as a venture investor with the support of Samsung, a leading consumer technology brand. No prior investing experience is required. The role offers a structured learning path over a three to four-year period, providing hands-on experience and rapid growth.

Responsibilities

• Source investment opportunities by building and maintaining relationships with founders and investors in key focus areas including AI, robotics, edge infrastructure, blockchain, healthtech, mediatech, and fintech.
• Evaluate early-stage investment opportunities through thorough due diligence on technology, team, market, and product.
• Communicate investment cases effectively throughout the deal lifecycle, from discussions to closing.
• Contribute to the development of insights and perspectives by writing investment memos and actively participating in deal discussions.
• Provide a supportive and responsive experience to the founders and builders we work with.

Required Qualifications

• A bachelor's or advanced degree in computer science or a related field
• At least 3 years of full-time technical experience from industry or startups, or equivalent experience if gained alongside an advanced technical degree
• Strong domain knowledge in AI, robotics, edge/infrastructure computing, or related fields
• Genuinely intellectually curious and passionate about technology and startups
• Ability to thrive in an unstructured environment and take on multiple roles
• Proven ability to develop and maintain strong relationships within the startup ecosystem
• High emotional intelligence and a team-oriented approach
• Outstanding analytical and communication skills, capable of simplifying complex information and providing insightful feedback
• Availability to travel regularly
• Previous angel or personal investing background is a plus
• Experience working in a large corporate organization is a plus

Pay

The target base salary for this role is $175,000 - $195,000.
