About the Role
The Associate, Investments (Real Estate Equity focus) is an integral part of the CIM team. You’ll work in a supportive, growth-oriented environment and gain exposure to a variety of projects across multiple real estate sectors, such as multifamily, office, retail, and industrial, as well as equity investment strategies including core, value-add, opportunistic, and ground-up development. While focused on real estate, you will also gain exposure to CIM’s broader investment platforms active in principal investing across real asset industries.
This position is a core member of CIM’s real estate investment team and is accountable for the full set of responsibilities necessary to deliver successful investment outcomes—from investment execution to value creation and exit. Based at our corporate headquarters in Los Angeles, you will support the Real Estate Investments team through macroeconomic and microeconomic research, financial analysis, transaction execution, and ongoing management and governance throughout the lifecycle of an investment. As an integral member of deal teams, you will actively participate in internal and external meetings and represent CIM Group.
Responsibilities
- Conduct macroeconomic and microeconomic research to support investment decisions.
- Perform financial analysis and modeling for real estate transactions.
- Support transaction execution, including due diligence and deal structuring.
- Participate in ongoing management and governance of investments through their lifecycle.
- Collaborate with deal teams across multiple geographies, including Los Angeles and New York.
- Represent CIM Group in internal and external meetings.
Requirements
- Minimum 2 years of professional experience with an investment firm, private equity firm, investment bank, or similar organization, focusing on real estate and adjacent sectors, and/or equity investment or corporate finance experience.
- Quantitative aptitude, with fluency in corporate and/or asset finance and strong financial modeling skills.
- Real estate investment or project finance knowledge is a plus but not required.

Pay
The anticipated base salary for this position in Los Angeles, CA is $175,000. Bonus compensation may be a significant part of the total compensation package. Actual base salary considers several factors, including geography, job-related knowledge, experience, and budget.
