About the Role
This person serves as an intern in the Investment Services department, supporting client service, account administration, and department reporting under the supervision of a Financial Advisor.
Responsibilities
- Initiates outbound calls to clients to schedule and confirm appointments for client reviews.
- Communicates with clients regarding issues and account administration within a limited scope.
- Prepares department reporting and resolves issues by coordinating activities, deadlines, and identifying solutions.
- Processes correspondence, files, and performs other specific duties as needed.
- Functions as a team player with all facets of the organization and outside partners.
- Utilizes internal technology (software applications) to maximize performance of duties.
- Ensures compliance with all Southside Bank policies, procedures, and confidentiality requirements.
- Maintains a positive and caring atmosphere for customers and employees consistent with Southside Bank’s mission and values.
- Provides enthusiastic, professional, and courteous service to customers and employees.
- Participates in proactive team efforts to achieve departmental and company goals.
- Complies with audit policies, applicable laws (including Bank Secrecy Act and anti-money laundering laws), and the Bank’s Information Security Program.
- Performs routine duties using standard practices or procedures.
- Complies with all safety policies and reports unsafe activities to supervisor and/or Human Resources.
- Performs additional duties as assigned or directed.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree, or working toward obtaining a Bachelor’s degree, preferably in business, finance, or a related field.
- Prior experience in the banking industry preferred.

Physical Demands
- Manual dexterity sufficient to reach, handle items, and work with fingers.
- Must be able to remain in a stationary position 90% of the time.
- Occasional movement inside the office to visit other internal and external offices, conference rooms, or office machinery.
- Constant operation of a computer and other office productivity machinery (e.g., calculator, copy machine, telephone).
- Frequent communication with others throughout the day; must be able to exchange accurate information when conversing.
Work Environment
- Well-lighted, heated, and/or air-conditioned indoor office setting with adequate ventilation.
- Moderate noise (e.g., business office with computers and printers, light traffic).
