What It's About Partners Group is seeking to hire an Investment Leader (Vice President) to join the Technology team. The Technology team consists of 15+ dedicated professionals in US. The Technology team invests in companies typically between $500 million - $2 billion in enterprise value. The team does both growth and buyout transactions and we are thematic in our sourcing. Responsibilities Source, execute and lead direct investments in technology businesses in the Americas; this person must be scrappy and comfortable with finding investment themes and opportunities and not wait for a CIM to appear on his/her deskManage quantitative and qualitative due diligence, including oversight of team-members and third-party advisorsDevelop and review valuation analyses, lead the preparation of investment memoranda for, and present opportunities in, Investment Committee meetingsLead review and negotiations of legal transaction documentation (e.g., SPA, SHA, MIP, etc.), including coordination of support from internal and external legal advisorsContribute to structuring and raising debt financing, together with Partners Group's Capital Markets teamActively engage with management teams and the boards of portfolio companies, including guiding the preparation of board materials and responsibility for certain post-closing value-creation initiativesDevelop exit strategy for portfolio companies and manage exit activities on a day to day basis (e.g., IPO or sell side process)Manage relationships with key investment stakeholders, counterparties and partnersRecruit, lead and mentor junior transaction-professionals in and outside of investment processesContribute to Partners Group’s client related activities (e.g., “pitches”, updates, reporting, etc.) What We Expect Pivotal Experience & Expertise At least 6+ years of private equity experience with a focus on the technology vertical, typically preceded by 2-3 years of investment banking experienceStrong understanding of the technology landscape and top software categories, and deep understanding of the software and SAAS business, ecosytem and revenue models.Strong existing relationships with intermediariesSuperior business judgment in holistically assessing investment opportunities – market trends, strategic dynamics, company performance and quality of management teamsAbility to “manage up and down” in coordinating investment processes, while ensuring high-quality executionHave superior written, verbal, and interpersonal communication and presentation skills and the ability to clearly articulate and execute strategic initiatives;Education and/or prior work experience in a technical discipline (computer science, data science) is a positive Culture Fit & Impact Culturally able to work in a highly collegial environment and be comfortable with a shared decision-making processes and collaborative approachBe in control of one’s ego and be focused on the shared success of the organization and its investors vs. solely personal goalsBe a team player who is just as prepared to do the associate’s work when needed as his/her own workBe able to forge meaningful relationships with colleagues and portfolio company executives creating an environment of open and trusting communicationBe a self-starter, who can interact collaboratively, but operate independently as requiredHave acute organizational and communication skills, coupled with a high level of maturity and professional presenceCapable of driving consensus at all levels in order to build a thesis that supports the investment model, with an efficient, effective, proactive plan that can support growth and changeBe flexible and fluid enough to promote change; be a visionary able to develop and implement “best practices”S/he must possess unquestionable integrity and professionalismKeenly interested in finding a firm within which to build his or her careerHave positive industry reputation for integrity, fair dealing, and value creation What We Offer Partners Group is a global financial institution that retains the culture, pace and agility of a start-up. Base pay range for this role is $250,000 – 275,000 and a performance-based bonus and equity are additional parts of the total compensation package.
