About the role

The Investment Grade Corporate team at Barings is seeking an experienced investment professional to join the platform as a senior credit analyst. The role involves leading coverage responsibilities, with primary ownership of the Financials sector.

Responsibilities

  • Provide analysis of investment grade corporate credits within the Financials sector
  • Financial analysis and modeling
  • Evaluate companies and the risks related to investing in debt securities across the capital structure
  • Individual security analysis, including capital structure and indenture analysis, cash flow and liquidity analysis, and total return and relative value assessment
  • Meet with management teams, develop industry contacts, and utilize other information sources to become an expert in assigned coverage
  • Produce clear and concise research reports based on independent observation and analysis
  • Produce quarterly industry reviews and communicate recommendations to portfolio management
  • Collaborate with other Barings’ investment teams optimizing efficiencies and framing relative value within sectors
  • Aid with special ad-hoc projects, presentations, and initiatives

Requirements

  • 5+ years of credit analyst experience—either investment grade or high yield/bank debt/privates
  • CFA and/or MBA preferred
  • Client presentation experience preferred
  • Excellent writing and communications skills
  • Ability to work as a member of a fast-paced, transaction-oriented team
  • Self-starter, must be organized and able to work independently
  • Ability to prioritize work and multi-task responsibilities
  • Ability to perform under pressure and meet time-sensitive deadlines
  • Strong computer skills, specifically in Microsoft Office applications, Bloomberg, etc
  • Some travel required

Qualifications
