About the role
The Investment Grade Corporate team at Barings is seeking an experienced investment professional to join the platform as a senior credit analyst. The role involves leading coverage responsibilities, with primary ownership of the Financials sector.
Responsibilities
- Provide analysis of investment grade corporate credits within the Financials sector
- Financial analysis and modeling
- Evaluate companies and the risks related to investing in debt securities across the capital structure
- Individual security analysis, including capital structure and indenture analysis, cash flow and liquidity analysis, and total return and relative value assessment
- Meet with management teams, develop industry contacts, and utilize other information sources to become an expert in assigned coverage
- Produce clear and concise research reports based on independent observation and analysis
- Produce quarterly industry reviews and communicate recommendations to portfolio management
- Collaborate with other Barings’ investment teams optimizing efficiencies and framing relative value within sectors
- Aid with special ad-hoc projects, presentations, and initiatives
Requirements
- 5+ years of credit analyst experience—either investment grade or high yield/bank debt/privates
- CFA and/or MBA preferred
- Client presentation experience preferred
- Excellent writing and communications skills
- Ability to work as a member of a fast-paced, transaction-oriented team
- Self-starter, must be organized and able to work independently
- Ability to prioritize work and multi-task responsibilities
- Ability to perform under pressure and meet time-sensitive deadlines
- Strong computer skills, specifically in Microsoft Office applications, Bloomberg, etc
- Some travel required
Qualifications
