Investment Data Analyst (Power BI) – Asset Management Only
Overview
Role and Responsibilities: We are seeking a Power BI Consultant (4–6 years) to support a multi-year data and cloud transformation program for a large institutional asset owner. This role will focus on designing and delivering intuitive, high-impact reporting solutions built on complex investment data.
- Design and develop Power BI dashboards and semantic data models for investment reporting and analytics
- Translate complex data (holdings, transactions, performance, exposures) into clear, user-centric visualizations
- Partner with business stakeholders (investment operations, portfolio management, data teams) to gather requirements and deliver insights
- Build and optimize Power BI data models (DAX, Power Query, dataflows)
- Work with engineering teams to leverage cloud data platforms (Snowflake, Azure, Databricks) as the source of truth
- Ensure data accuracy, consistency, and performance across reporting layers
- Apply row-level security and governance best practices
Required Qualifications
- 4–6 years of experience in Power BI / data analytics roles
- Strong hands-on experience with: Power BI (DAX, data modeling, dataflows), SQL (intermediate to advanced)
- Experience working with investment / asset management data, including: holdings, transactions, positions, performance and exposures
- Understanding of front-to-back investment workflows (portfolio management, trading, operations)
- Experience building dashboards for different user personas (PMs, operations, executives)
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with platforms such as BlackRock (Aladdin), Charles River Development, SimCorp, or FactSet
- Exposure to IBOR/ABOR data structures
- Experience working in cloud-based data environments (Snowflake, Azure, Databricks)

Compensation
The anticipated base compensation range for this role is $120,000-$160,000, depending on factors such as experience, qualifications, market conditions, and geographic location. Final compensation will be determined based on individual background and alignment with the role’s responsibilities.
