Investment Banking - Small-Cap Investment Banking - Associate
Founded in 2026, the Small Cap Investment Banking team focuses on companies valued between $100 to $500 million in enterprise value. The team concentrates on M&A opportunities in the business services, consumer and retail, and diversified industries verticals. Associates will work in New York and support a broader team of bankers across New York, Los Angeles, Dallas, Chicago, and Atlanta.
About the role
As an Associate in our Small Cap Investment Banking group, you will be a key player in our business strategy and execution. You will participate in the full cycle of transactional execution, including preparing marketing pitches, reviewing and formulating financial analysis, preparing and presenting internal committee memoranda, and client presentations. You will play a leadership role in implementing the execution function, working with Analysts and other Associates, as well as assisting more senior bankers. Over time, you will develop into a senior client executive capable of generating and executing your own transactions.
You will work with a broader regional team of Analysts and Associates and may have opportunities to be involved in real-time transactions, which could include frequent travel.
Responsibilities
- Develop content for strategic meetings with clients regarding M&A or capital market transactions.
- Interact with senior team members and client management teams daily to execute transactions and discuss strategic alternatives.
- Define, guide, and review detailed valuation analysis, including DCF, trading comparables, transaction comparables, and LBO analyses.
- Define, guide, and review detailed combination and other financial analyses during pitches and M&A transactions.
- Provide leadership, mentorship, and supervision to Analysts.
Requirements
- 3-5 years of work experience in an investment banking front office or related role with a focus on M&A.
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Business Administration, or a closely related field.
- Strong financial modeling skills.
- Understanding of the transaction cycle and execution-oriented mindset.
- Impeccable communication skills with the ability to effectively interact with senior professionals, clients, and key stakeholders.
- Self-directed, highly motivated, and able to work independently.

Pay
Competitive total rewards package including base salary determined based on the role, experience, skill set, and location.
