About the role

Citi is seeking an Investment Banking Senior Associate to join its Healthcare Investment Banking team. The role involves advising clients on mergers, acquisitions, and capital markets transactions in the healthcare sector.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the execution of mergers, acquisitions, and capital raising transactions for healthcare sector clients.
  • Develop and deliver financial analyses, valuation models, and transaction structures that support client decision-making and advisory recommendations.
  • Serve as a day-to-day point of contact for clients, building trusted advisory relationships and contributing to new business development efforts across the healthcare industry.
  • Analyze industry trends, market dynamics, and competitive landscapes to generate actionable insights that strengthen client proposals and pitches.
  • Mentor and guide analysts through the transaction process, providing clear direction on workstreams, managing information flow, and delivering constructive feedback to support their development.
  • Identify and evaluate corporate transaction structures, applying sound commercial judgment to assess risks and opportunities at each stage of the deal cycle.
  • Uphold regulatory and conduct standards throughout all business activities, ensuring client engagements and internal processes meet compliance requirements and reflect Citi's commitment to ethical practice.

Requirements

  • 5 to 8 years of experience in investment banking, capital markets, or a closely related financial advisory function.
  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Business Administration, or an equivalent field.
  • FINRA Series 79 and Series 63 licenses - current or ability to obtain.
  • Demonstrated ability to construct and interpret complex financial models and analyses to support transaction execution and client recommendations.
  • Experience evaluating corporate transactions and deal structures across a range of transaction types, including M&A and capital raises.
  • Clear and effective communicator, with the ability to present complex financial information concisely to both clients and internal stakeholders.
  • Prioritization and coordination skills, able to manage multiple workstreams simultaneously, coordinating across teams and tracking deliverables in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
