Investment Banking Analyst - Secondaries Advisory
About the role
We are partnering with a leading global investment bank who is expanding its GP-Led Secondaries Advisory team and seeking Analysts and Associates to join its growing platform in New York and West Palm Beach. The team advises PE sponsors on complex liquidity and capital solutions, with a particular focus on single-asset and multi-asset continuation vehicles. The group combines deep financial sponsor relationships, extensive M&A capabilities, and dedicated secondaries expertise to provide clients with a differentiated, IB-led approach. This is a compelling opportunity to join a lean, entrepreneurial team experiencing significant growth in deal flow. Junior professionals receive meaningful execution responsibility, direct exposure to senior bankers and clients, and the opportunity to work across the full lifecycle of sophisticated GP-led transactions.
Responsibilities
- Support the origination and execution of GP-led secondary transactions, including single-asset and multi-asset continuation vehicles
- Build and review operating models, valuation analyses, LBO models, transaction structures, and investor return analyses
- Prepare client presentations, marketing materials, transaction documentation, and investor-facing materials
- Coordinate due diligence and work closely with sponsors, portfolio company management teams, investors, legal counsel, and other advisers
- Take increasing ownership of deal processes, anticipate next steps, and help drive execution across lean deal teams
- At the Associate level, participate directly in client calls and independently manage key workstreams
Requirements
- M&A or generalist investment banking
- GP-led secondaries advisory or investing
- Private equity or direct secondaries
- Transaction services, financial due diligence, or accounting advisory, particularly for junior Analyst candidates
- Other highly analytical roles involving strong financial modeling, accounting, and transaction experience
- Direct secondaries experience is not required.
- Candidates coming from traditional M&A backgrounds are particularly attractive given the transaction-oriented nature of GP-led continuation vehicle assignments.
Qualifications
- Entrepreneurial, proactive, and comfortable operating with limited oversight
- Able to anticipate process needs and independently move workstreams forward
- Technically strong, with a solid understanding of accounting, valuation, and financial modeling
- Polished and credible in front of clients, investors, and senior professionals
- Collaborative, socially aware, and interested in joining a close-knit team
- Motivated by significant responsibility and a steep learning curve
Benefits
- Strong market positioning: Join a platform that combines a leading middle-market M&A franchise with extensive private equity sponsor relationships and dedicated secondaries expertise.
- Significant deal activity: The team has a robust mandated pipeline, with deal flow increasing meaningfully as the market for GP-led solutions continues to expand.
- Meaningful transaction experience: Analysts have historically closed approximately two to four transactions annually, with the potential for greater execution exposure as activity increases.
- Lean deal teams: Junior professionals receive substantive responsibility rather than operating solely in a support capacity.
