About the role

FMI Corporation is seeking a talented professional to join FMI Capital Advisors, the firm’s investment banking group and registered broker/dealer, as a summer intern. For over 70 years, FMI has been the leading consulting and investment banking firm exclusively serving the built environment. Interns support all members of the practice and gain valuable exposure to the field of investment banking. Interns will be placed as generalists across industry and product coverage teams. Formal training, educational speaker events, mentorship, networking, and social opportunities are offered throughout.

Products: Mergers & Acquisitions Advisory, ESOP Advisory, Financial Sponsors

Responsibilities

  • Conducting industry, market, and company-specific research
  • Performing financial analysis and financial modeling
  • Assisting with the preparation of transaction marketing materials, including pitch books, teasers, confidential information memorandums, and management presentations
  • Researching trends in various industry sectors
  • Providing support to members of the investment banking group and performing other duties as assigned

Requirements

  • Penultimate year undergraduate student with outstanding academic achievement seeking a summer internship with the opportunity for 2028 full-time conversion upon graduation
  • Bachelor’s degree in progress from a top-tier university in business, finance, accounting, or related field
  • Demonstrated track record of superior performance in extracurricular and professional activities
  • Strong quantitative/analytical skills and attention to detail
  • Excellent research and information management skills
  • Superior organizational and time management skills, and the ability to efficiently manage multiple projects in a fast-paced work environment
  • Excellent written and verbal communication, listening, problem-solving, interpersonal, and relationship-building skills
  • Demonstrated maturity, integrity, and the ability to perform in an entrepreneurial environment, both individually and as a team player
  • Strong proficiency in MS Office software (Word, PowerPoint, Excel)
  • Legally authorized to work in the US on a full-time basis

Schedule

This full-time, paid internship requires a commitment of 40 hours per week for a period of 10 weeks over the summer, with the possibility of overtime. The internship is estimated to start June 1, 2027, and end July 30, 2027.

Pay

The 10-week summer program offers a pay rate of $30 per hour.

Other Information

Internship participants are responsible for securing their own housing accommodations for the duration of the 10-week program. One option to consider is the University of Colorado Denver Summer Intern Housing program for students pursuing summer internships.
