Investment Accountant II
About the role
The Investment Accountant II ensures that investment accounting policies and procedures are correctly applied to accounting records. Under general supervision, this role works directly with asset management, portfolio management, and acquisition/disposition teams.
Responsibilities
- Prepare certain SEC filings.
- Prepare timely and accurate financial statements including GAAP and/or statutory work papers and supporting schedules to satisfy all investment accounting requirements.
- Work directly with auditors to answer audit inquiries and provide additional documentation as needed to support the completion of annual audits.
- Analyze financial information to ensure compliance with investment accounting policies and procedures.
- Calculate performance returns.
- Seek guidance from senior Investment Accountants regarding issues that require more advanced knowledge and experience.
- Prepare Funds’ shareholder reports and certain support work-papers.
- Update investor ad-hoc and consultant reporting.
- Complete debt compliance and draw requests.
- Process accounts payable requests.
- Manage cash reconciliations.
- Reconcile monthly investment-level data imports.
- Work with third-party tax preparers.
Requirements
- 2+ years of accounting experience in real estate or an investment company (3+ years preferred).
- Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Accounting (preferred).
- Yardi experience (preferred).
- Proficient knowledge of fair value GAAP (preferred).
- Excellent communication (written and oral), facilitation, interpersonal, and collaborative skills.
- Advanced proficiency in Excel.

Pay
Base Pay Range: $31.20/hr - $41.06/hr. Actual base salary may vary based on relevant experience, time in role, base salary of internal peers, prior performance, business sector, and geographic location. In addition to base salary, the competitive compensation package may include participation in an incentive program linked to performance.
