About the role

The Investment Accountant will be responsible for financial reporting, investor reporting, cash management, capital transactions, audit support, investment acquisitions, investment dispositions, and other general accounting functions.

Responsibilities

  • Financial Reporting: Prepare financials in accordance with US GAAP. Compile the quarterly and annual financials. Prepare the quarterly reporting work-papers, reconcile accounts, reference and tie out the consolidated financials, and prepare support for tables and charts included in the quarterly report. Assist with ad hoc investor reporting, lender reporting, compliance certificates, and other third-party reporting requests.
  • Cash Management: Assist with the management of day-to-day cash transactions for each assigned fund/venture, including daily oversight of bank accounts, timely entry of transactions into Yardi, and management of intercompany bill-backs and accounts payable processes.
  • Capital Transactions: Assist with the allocation and documentation process for capital transactions between funds/ventures and investors. Prepare contribution and distribution calculations and packets.
  • Audit: Assist with annual audit management for each fund/venture in accordance with legal agreements. Oversee the day-to-day audit process, prepare the PBC request list, upload audit documents, roll-forward prior year-end financials, assist in preparing tables and charts, and prepare current audited financial statements as required.
  • Yardi: Use Yardi software to house all General Ledgers by entity. Enter journal entries, run reports for analytics and reporting, and use the Investment Management module for cash, contributions, distributions, and other internal transactions.
  • General: Understand the underlying agreements of each venture, including relevant sections such as partnership expenses, fees, and commitments. Provide oversight and direction to third-party administrators when applicable. Perform other duties as assigned by manager.
