About the role

The Office of the Attorney General (OAG) is the Chief Law Enforcement Office in the Commonwealth of Kentucky. The Office of Medicaid Fraud, Abuse and Control within OAG is seeking an Investigator II for the Western Enforcement Section. This position is located in the Western part of the state and will handle cases related to Medicaid provider fraud, as well as the abuse, neglect, and exploitation of vulnerable adults in Medicaid-funded facilities or Board and Care homes.

Responsibilities

• Conduct investigations into Medicaid provider fraud and cases involving abuse, neglect, or exploitation of vulnerable adults.
• Operate in accordance with Office of Attorney General policies, guidelines, statutes, and regulations.
• Produce quality written reports and assimilate large volumes of information for complex white-collar cases.
• Carry and/or use a firearm as required.
• Work irregular hours, travel as needed, and perform physical arrests in potentially dangerous situations.

Requirements

• Graduate of a college or university with a bachelor’s degree.
• Four years of experience in investigative law enforcement or a related field of investigation.
• Experience as a sworn law enforcement officer may substitute for the required education on a year-for-year basis.
• Must be 21 years of age or older.
• Must possess a valid driver’s license prior to employment.
• Must possess and maintain Peace Officer Professional Standards (POPS) law enforcement officer certification through the Kentucky Law Enforcement Council.
• Must maintain any required licensure, certification, or credentials for the duration of employment.

Probationary Period

This job has an initial and promotional probationary period of 6 months, except as provided in KRS 18A.111.
