About the role

The Investigator builds relationships and assists Leadership with various tasks, including coaching and development opportunities with employees and assisting HR Leadership with compliance-related projects. This position involves a high degree of responsibility, including compliance reporting, policy interpretation, and managing unemployment, termination, and retirement processes.

Responsibilities

  • Assist with investigations pertaining to employee-related issues and ensure consistent application of applicable Company policies as well as local, state, and federal regulations.
  • Partner and consult with HR, Legal, Security, Safety, Internal Audit, and other departments to conduct prompt, thorough, and fair investigations.
  • Assist with investigations end-to-end, including complaint intake, background research, investigative interviews, and debrief meetings with leadership.
  • Provide recommended action plans based on investigation findings.
  • Document all interviews and meetings and save in confidential case files.
  • Provide expert advice, guidance, and action items to Leadership based on analysis of business needs and workplace situations.
  • Maintain a log to track performance coaching, leadership coaching, and investigations.
  • Remain respectful and diplomatic in difficult and uncomfortable investigation situations.
  • Develop trust and rapport and influence partners and business leaders on recommended best practices for disciplinary and investigation procedures.
  • Review case data to identify trends and help develop long-term solutions and action plans for systemic issues.
  • Provide Company responses to unemployment processes, including gathering and responding to claims, state determinations, and preparing defense statements for hearings.
  • Manage the retirement and termination process.
  • Serve as the HR authority for Company Leadership on coaching and assist with development and implementation of coaching and performance improvement plans.
  • Develop, implement, and present training for managers and leaders regarding government compliance and human resources policies.
  • Interpret local, state, and federal regulations and develop solutions to ensure compliance.
  • Assist with HR Compliance training programs, maintain vendor relationships, and develop content.
  • Partner in analysis and revision of Company programs, policies, and practices to sustain a positive work environment and ensure compliance.
  • Assist with testing Workday's capabilities and communicate functionality gaps.
  • Work with People Tech and technology teams to configure Workday and other applications to comply with regulatory or policy changes.
  • Provide support, including researching and resolving problems with the HRIS system to enhance or expedite processes in Workday.
  • Champion Company values, policies, and initiatives.
  • Perform other duties and projects as assigned.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree preferred; experience will be considered in lieu of formal education.
  • Previous experience in developing and delivering instructions is preferred.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.

Schedule

Generally, 8:00 am - 5:00 pm Monday through Friday with occasional irregular hours depending on workload.

Travel Requirements

Moderate (50%-75%)
