Nature of Work
Under general supervision of the deputy director of Racetrack/Table Games, the security or appropriate supervisor will perform full performance level work obtaining evidence of reported fraud or violations of rules and regulations of the WV Lottery, WV State Lottery Act, Racetrack video lottery, and table games rules and regulations. The positions' primary location will be at a racetrack and the employee will report to the assigned racetrack. This position will involve direct public contact. Work may require the use of a personal automobile for travel and overnight stays may be required. Employee is subject to on-call during non-business hours (24/7) as assigned. May be required to deal with situations which are potentially dangerous.
Work location is not smoke free with low lighting. Position will require walking up and down stairs, standing, bending to perform the assigned duties. Work may include compliance inspections of the racetrack and all related areas of assignment. Oversee the operation at the racetrack to ensure proper security procedures are followed in addition to rules and regulations. Conduct and/or assist with investigation to ensure the integrity of the WV Lottery, but not limited to other investigations as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
- Training: Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university.
- Experience: One (1) year of full-time or equivalent part-time paid experience in law enforcement or investigative work or in determining eligibility for credit, insurance or government programs.
- Lottery Only: Two (2) years of full-time or equivalent part-time paid investigative, law enforcement, surveillance, accounting/auditing, and/or business operations, lottery operations, and/or casino operations, or gaming operations experience.
- Preference may be shown to applicants with investigative experience in casino or gaming operations.
Special Requirements
- Possession of a valid driver's license and the availability of an automobile is required.
