About the role
The Investigative Support Specialist will provide analytical, operational, and project support to the Office of Special Investigations (OSI).
Responsibilities
- Coordinating and managing Calls for Service (CFS) requests, including intake, tracking, assignment, status monitoring, prioritization, and closure activities in collaboration with leadership to ensure alignment with statutory, policy, and operational priorities.
- Monitoring and managing operational workflow processes to ensure assignments, CFS, projects, and related activities are tracked, prioritized, and completed efficiently and in alignment with organizational objectives.
- Conducting administrative reviews, audits, and quality assurance activities to support compliance, operational effectiveness, and continuous improvement.
- Maintaining and managing investigative and operational information systems, databases, and workflow tracking tools.
- Managing OSI related projects through developing and maintaining project trackers via MS Project, dashboards, and status reports.
Requirements
- Demonstrated knowledge of investigative, intelligence, and security procedures.
- A working understanding of the Criminal Justice system and any case/record management systems thereof.
- Experience with coordinating operational or project tasks, including tracking timelines, communicating updates and deliverables, and creating written and verbal documentation.
- Advanced Microsoft Office skills in Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
Qualifications
- Valid Minnesota Driver's License.
- High School Diploma or GED.
- Two (2) years work experience in a professional technical or support specific role that must include the following:
- Demonstrated knowledge of investigative, intelligence, and security procedures.
- A working understanding of the Criminal Justice system and any case/record management systems thereof.
- Experience with coordinating operational or project tasks, including tracking timelines, communicating updates and deliverables, and creating written and verbal documentation.
- Advanced Microsoft Office skills in Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
Skills
