Investigative Producer

About the role

We are searching for an Investigative Producer who is driven to research, write, and produce hard investigative enterprise stories. You will work within a team of reporters, photographers, and managers to cultivate sources, dig up source material from scratch, and organize several stories in various stages of development simultaneously. This producer will play a major role in the station’s online success by posting stories and other content on WAVY.com.

Responsibilities

Requirements

• Several years of experience as a newscast producer or journalist within an investigative newsgathering environment (preferred)
• History of on-air work at a commercial television station (a plus)
• Proven track record of strong journalistic skills and supreme ethical standards
• Understanding of professional and fair investigative newsgathering techniques
• Ability to leverage all resources available to a free press
• Willingness to work overnights, nights, weekends, and holidays
• Alignment with the IRE mission of fostering excellence in investigative journalism and protecting the rights of investigative journalists

Pay

Annual salary range: $68,000 - $72,000
