The Inventory Supervisor is responsible for managing and overseeing all inventory control activities within the warehouse, ensuring accuracy, efficiency, and proper stock management. This role supervises the inventory team and partners with warehouse operations, procurement, and logistics to maintain optimal inventory levels and streamline material flow. The Inventory Supervisor is accountable for planning and directing cycle counts, resolving discrepancies, implementing process improvements, and ensuring system data integrity. This position plays a key role in driving operational excellence, supporting audits, and ensuring compliance with company policies, food safety standards, and workplace safety requirements.

Responsibilities

  • Supervise and direct daily inventory operations to ensure accuracy, efficiency, and timely completion of tasks.
  • Lead, coach, and develop a team of inventory associates; provide training, assign work, and conduct performance evaluations.
  • Plan, coordinate, and oversee cycle counts and physical inventories; analyze results and implement corrective actions.
  • Lead cycle count programs and inventory audits using Business Central, investigating variances and implementing corrective actions to improve inventory accuracy.
  • Monitor and maintain inventory control systems to ensure real-time accuracy and data integrity.
  • Investigate and resolve inventory discrepancies; implement root-cause corrective actions to prevent recurrence.
  • Partner with warehouse, logistics, and procurement teams to align inventory levels with production and customer demand.
  • Oversee receiving and put-away processes; ensure proper labeling, storage, and stock rotation practices.
  • Develop, recommend, and implement best practices for inventory control and warehouse organization.
  • Generate and analyze inventory reports from Business Central to identify discrepancies, optimize inventory performance, and support operational decision-making.
  • Prepare and present reports and inventory-related KPIs to management; provide insights and continuous improvement recommendations.
  • Ensure team compliance with company policies, safety requirements, and regulatory standards.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for inventory-related audits, inspections, and escalations.

Education and Experience

  • High school diploma or GED required; associate degree preferred.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in inventory control, warehouse operations, or related field.
  • At least 1 year of supervisory or leadership experience required.
  • Experience in the food manufacturing industry strongly preferred.
  • Familiarity with Business Central required.
