About the role
The Inventory Specialist directly impacts the department’s ability to meet the organization’s operational demands, ensures the availability of essential resources, and supports the efficient flow of material and supplies by maintaining accurate records and an organized inventory.
Responsibilities
- Conduct inventory counts to track stock levels and reconcile any discrepancies
- Utilize inventory management software to update and manage inventory records
- Ensure all inventory items are properly labeled and organized for easy access
- Maintain detailed records of all inventory transactions (i.e., receipts, issues, returns)
- Assist in the preparation of regular inventory reports and analysis
- Keep documentation compliant with industry standards and regulations
- Monitor inventory levels and submit purchase orders as needed to maintain optimal stock levels
- Collaborate with vendors to ensure timely deliveries and resolve any supply issues
- Verify the accuracy of incoming shipments against purchase orders
- Adhere to all safety protocols and regulations while handling inventory
- Promptly report any observed safety hazards or incidents to the Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE) hotline
- Work closely with colleagues in logistics, procurement, and operations to meet inventory requirements
- Participate in cross-functional teams to improve inventory processes
- Maintain compliance with HSE policies by attending all required HSE training sessions, safety meetings, and always utilize proper Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)
- Other duties as assigned
Requirements
- High School diploma, GED, or equivalent, required
- Associate's or Bachelor's degree in supply chain management or related field, preferred
- Previous experience in inventory management, preferably in the oil field industry
- Proficient using Microsoft Office 365 applications, inventory management software, and able to quickly learn other work-related software systems
- Strong organizational skills with a keen eye for detail
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills; can effectively interact with vendors, customers, and personnel at all levels of the organization
- Highly collaborative, can successfully work with others to reach a common goal
- Basic knowledge of safety protocols and regulations
- Ability to work in a fast-paced and dynamic environment
