About the role
This is a highly collaborative position that partners with Sales, Customer Service, Product Management, Purchasing, and Supply Chain to make informed inventory decisions that directly impact business performance. Candidates must reside in the Franklin or greater Nashville, TN area and be able to commute to the office daily.
Responsibilities
- Analyze historical customer buying patterns, current demand forecasts, inventory levels, and supplier lead times to develop effective replenishment strategies.
- Determine appropriate purchasing quantities that balance customer service expectations with inventory investment and cash flow objectives.
- Maintain inventory replenishment parameters and planning models across product lines and distribution locations.
- Partner with Sales to understand customer demand changes, upcoming opportunities, and market intelligence that may impact inventory requirements.
- Collaborate with Purchasing and Supply Chain teams to ensure timely product replenishment while minimizing excess and obsolete inventory.
- Monitor inventory performance metrics, forecast accuracy, inventory turns, fill rates, and stock availability, identifying opportunities for continuous improvement.
- Analyze inventory risks, shortages, and excess stock while recommending corrective actions.
- Support the monthly Sales & Operations Planning (S&OP) process through inventory analysis, demand insights, and replenishment recommendations.
- Build and maintain reports, dashboards, and planning tools that improve visibility into inventory performance and buying decisions.
- Champion data accuracy and continuously improve replenishment processes, planning methodologies, and analytical efficiency.
- Work cross-functionally to ensure inventory strategies align with customer needs and overall business objectives.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Business, Operations, Finance, or a related field.
- 3–5 years of experience in inventory planning, inventory replenishment, demand planning, supply chain planning, purchasing, or a similar analytical supply chain role.
- Reside in the Franklin/Nashville, TN area.
- Strong understanding of inventory management principles, replenishment planning, forecasting methodologies, and inventory performance metrics.
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills with experience analyzing large datasets and identifying meaningful trends.
- Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving abilities.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills with the ability to work effectively across multiple departments.
- Ability to prioritize multiple product categories and make sound inventory decisions in a fast-paced environment.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with inventory replenishment or demand planning software such as Netstock or similar planning platforms.
- Experience with S&OP, SIOP, or Integrated Business Planning processes.
- Experience with ERP systems and inventory management applications.
- Experience with Power BI, Tableau, or other business intelligence tools.
- Experience in distribution, packaging, industrial manufacturing, or wholesale distribution environments.
- Experience with continuous process improvement initiatives.
