About the role
Your role as an Inventory Planner involves reporting directly to the Inventory Planning Supervisor and working closely with a team of 2 other Inventory Planners. You will be working in a Hybrid role, splitting your time between working from home 2 days a week and being in the office 3 days per week. The role is located in our South Charlotte location, approximately 3-4 miles from Carowinds.
Responsibilities
- Prepare purchase orders to obtain sufficient stock levels of spare parts
- Process order acknowledgments, maintain vendor due dates in the system, and update purchase order pricing
- Daily follow up with suppliers to gain delivery commitments on open purchase orders through phone calls and emails
- Proactively identify potential shortages and initiate actions to ensure availability of stocked parts
- Expedites and devises alternative solutions to resolve back orders and schedule delivery of critical parts in a timely manner
- Build relationships with an assigned range of vendors to maintain a strong network of suppliers
- Maintain and monitor vendor performance to ensure an on-time supply chain
- Work cross-functionally with all departments of the service center to solve purchase order and inventory discrepancies
- Perform other duties as assigned
Requirements

- 2-3 years practical experience in inventory control, purchasing experience, supply chain, or logistics
- Experience with SAP
- Inventory control or purchasing experience
- Understanding and skill set with Microsoft Office products, especially Excel (can maintain complex spreadsheets)
- Familiarity with network and mainframe production control software systems
- Identify problems and use root cause analysis
- Demonstrated ownership and resulted achievements of goals
- Fluent in English, as this is our internal language
- Bachelor's degree in business, supply chain, or related field (or equivalent work experience)
- Keep commitment to customers (both internal and external)
- Experience with analytics and associated tools (e.g., Excel and pivot tables, Power BI, etc.)

Schedule
Hybrid working arrangement, allowing you to split your time between working remotely and being on-site at our office in South Charlotte.
