Inventory Organizer

About the Role

This position provides general assistance under the direction of the Equipment Center Manager, with support from the Customer Service Coordinator. The role involves managing tool and material orders, maintaining equipment and yard property, and ensuring safe working practices.

Responsibilities

• Pull, gather, secure, and load tool and material orders for specific projects. Create paper transfers if none are provided.
• Unload, sort, put away, and assess the repair status of tools and materials returning from projects. Tag tools needing repair for prompt servicing.
• Prioritize processing returning loads before starting other yard projects.
• Assist employees directly at the Equipment Center by pulling, gathering, and loading tools and materials.
• Unload tool and material deliveries from outside vendors.
• Maintain cleanliness of the Equipment Center property, including trash cleanup, weed control, and keeping fencing clear of obstructions. Conduct weekly walk-throughs to ensure the yard is tidy.
• Organize and clean buildings and general yard storage areas.
• Report maintenance, repair needs, and yard property issues to the Equipment Center Manager.
• Maintain proper paperwork and transfers with the Customer Service Coordinator. Create transfers if none are provided and note any excessive damage or abuse.
• Adhere to safe working practices in accordance with company policy.
• Attend mandatory safety meetings, typically held on Monday mornings.
• Maintain yard loading equipment by checking fluids, greasing, and reporting repair issues to the Equipment Center Manager.
• Perform additional duties and responsibilities as assigned.

Skills

• Language Skills: Ability to read and interpret safety rules, operating instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to communicate effectively with groups of customers or employees and adapt to complex project requirements and diverse personalities.
• Mathematical Skills: Ability to perform basic arithmetic (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division) using whole numbers, fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rates, ratios, percentages, and interpret bar graphs.
• Reasoning Ability: Ability to apply common sense to carry out instructions in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to handle problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.

Physical Demands

• Medium physical exertion, manual dexterity, and stamina.
• Occasional lifting of up to 100 lbs.
• Regular and punctual attendance, ability to work overtime as assigned.
• Ability to work in cold, hot, dusty, and loud environments while complying with all company policies and procedures, including safety.
