About the Role

This position provides highly skilled support in inventory management, including shipping, packing, and receiving of products. The role involves handling materials within the plant or work site with minimal supervision, ensuring timely shipments, and maintaining accurate records of products shipped and received.

Responsibilities

  • Package shipments internally per procedures or send to an outside packing house.
  • Interface with internal departments and external shipping services or freight companies to ensure timely shipments to customers/suppliers.
  • Generate shippers and labels for hardware/materials shipments, including finished products, detail parts, and other materials.
  • Perform visual inspections of incoming materials for physical damage.
  • Analyze incoming paperwork for accuracy and receive materials into the ERP system if correct; report discrepancies and place items on hold if necessary.
  • Read work orders or follow oral instructions to ascertain materials or containers to be moved.
  • Load and unload materials onto or from pallets, trays, racks, and shelves by hand.
  • Load materials into vehicles and install strapping, bracing, or padding to prevent shifting or damage in transit.
  • Convey materials from storage or work sites to designated areas such as receiving inspection.
  • Secure lifting attachments to materials and convey loads to destinations or signal crane/hoisting operators.
  • Attach identifying tags or labels to materials or mark information on containers.
  • Stack or assemble materials into bundles and band them together.
  • Lift heavy objects by hand or with a power hoist and clean work areas.
  • Operate industrial trucks or electric hoists to assist in loading or moving materials and products.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED).
  • A minimum of 6 years of prior relevant experience or 2 years of post-secondary/Associates Degree with a minimum of 2 additional years of related experience and/or training.
  • US Citizenship required.
  • Basic reading and writing skills, generally acquired through high school education.
  • Ability to understand directions given in English.
  • Proficiency in reading, analyzing, and interpreting business documents, technical procedures, or governmental regulations.
  • Ability to write reports and present information effectively.
  • Basic manual and finger dexterity.
  • Ability to perform arithmetic operations, including addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division, using units of money, weight, volume, and distance.
  • Proficiency with the use of hand tools.

Pay

$25.00 per hour (W2).

Schedule

1st Shift on a 9/80 schedule with a 7:00 AM start time.

Contract Details

12-month contract with potential extension.
