PURPOSE
The Inventory Control Supervisor is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the inventory control team through reporting, audits and coaching and inventory optimization. This position will collaborate closely with Operations leadership to meet inventory goals.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
- Oversees the inventory control daily operations including inventory management, researching, and resolving inventory inquiries and processing adjustments as needed
- Reviews and processes financial adjustments to inventory as needed
- Develops and maintains slotting and capacity optimization
- Conducts routine audits on cycle counters & inventory to ensure standard operating procedures are followed
- Reviews and actions inventory reporting including but not limited to Dock/Trailer Report Review, MY529 NWXD Exception Report
- Manages outside storage process
- Performs non-warehouse cross dock research
- Coaches and trains associates on inventory processes including managing talent and performance
- Partners with local Operations leadership to meet inventory and service level goals
- Performs other relevant job duties as required
JOB REQUIREMENTS
- Bachelor's Degree in related field and/or equivalent work experience preferred
- Capability of being licensed in operating powered industrial equipment
- 3-5 years of relevant inventory control experience or equivalent experience required
- 3-5 years of warehouse experience required
- Strong knowledge of warehouse operations including slotting system required
- Proficient with reporting methods related to tracking inventory
- Strong ability to analyze, interpret, and report financial data
- Strong interpersonal skills; must be motivated and take initiative
- Deal effectively with a wide variety of people both in person and over the telephone
- Able to be detail oriented and manage multiple tasks
- Proficiency in PC software tools for reports, analysis, and audits. MS Outlook, Word and Excel experience required
- Good judgment is required for this position as there may be times when direct supervision may not be immediately available
PHYSICAL ENVIRONMENT/ DEMANDS
- Some travel may be required
- Ability to lift between 40-60 pounds daily and to stand, walk, bend, stoop, twist and turn frequently
- Exposed to temperatures ranging from -20 degrees below zero to 35 degrees Fahrenheit in Perishable Operation and 37 degrees to 90 degrees Fahrenheit in Grocery Operation
- Requires manual dexterity, overall coordination and good balance to work both at ground level and in high places to perform job duties
- Ability to operate work related equipment
