About the role
The Inventory Control Supervisor supervises and coordinates activities of workers concerned with inventorying materials, supplies, tools, equipment, and parts in stockrooms, warehouses, or yards.
Responsibilities
- Maintains layout of stockroom, warehouse, and other storage areas, considering turnover, size, weight, and related factors in items stored.
- Studies records and recommends remedial actions for reported non-usable, slow-moving, and excess stock.
- Reviews records for accuracy of information and compliance with established procedures, and to determine adequacy of stock levels.
- Schedules work for special and periodic inventories.
- Prepares composite reports from individual reports of Inventory Specialists.
- Traces history of items to determine reasons for discrepancies between inventory and stock control records and recommends remedial actions to resolve discrepancies.
- Issues written/oral instructions and expedites workflow with team members.
- Assigns duties and examines work for exactness, neatness, and conformance to policies and procedures.
- Oversees inbound associates in their daily tasks and job responsibilities.
- Performs payroll validations for all respective Inventory Control and Inbound associates.
- Utilizes computer terminal to properly account for inventory issues, returns, and documentation.
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
- Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
- Ability to physically count articles or products on shelves, racks, and pallets.
- Other tasks as assigned by manager.
Requirements
- Minimum 2 years of related experience and/or training in Inventory Control.
- Minimum 1 to 2 years of related experience and/or training in a warehouse environment.
- Experience operating a forklift and cherry picker/high lift.
- Experience using WMS software (Synapse preferred).
- Working knowledge of Inventory Control practices; KPI reporting, coordinating Cycle Count programs, product rotation.
- PC literate with experience in Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, and Access Database.
- High School Diploma or GED equivalency.
Schedule
Monday - Friday / 4:00 PM - 12:30 AM (Hours may vary based on business needs)
Pay
$65,000 - $70,000 annual
