Inventory Control Manager

About the role

Oversee all functions relating to product slotting, returns/damage processing, product integrity, product recall processing, and overall accuracy of facilities inventory. Develop the proper structure of the department to achieve the best Quantity On Hand Out of Stock (QOHOS%), achieve the lowest possible inventory shrink, manage product quality and code dates, and manage the slotting process for all Stock Keeping Units (SKUs). Coordinate with Operations, Purchasing, and Sales to assure a high level of inventory accuracy, minimize product shrink, and maintain product quality at UNFI standards.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and manage processes to assure accuracy of inventory
  • Ensure inventory discrepancies are investigated and corrected in a timely manner
  • Assure the highest level of product quality is maintained
  • Oversee product slotting analysis, product slot assignment, and slot movements
  • Coordinate with Operations and Maintenance to re-align warehouse racking in support of proper product slotting
  • Develop, evaluate, and perform performance appraisals of department personnel
  • Track inventory shrink and assist other departmental areas in reducing overall product loss
  • Provide Management with updates and reports on inventory issues and updates to Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs)

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree is preferred and/or equivalent related experience
  • Strong Microsoft Suite skills
  • Four (4) or more years of inventory, quality control, and/or food warehouse management experience
  • Two (2) or more years of supervisory experience
  • Excellent leadership skills
  • Good verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong math and analytical skills
  • Solid computer skills
  • Solid understanding of Receiving and Shipping functions
  • Good organization and time management skills
  • Good judgment, as direct supervision may not always be immediately available

Pay

UNFI anticipates paying the above-referenced pay rate (or within the above-referenced pay range) for this position. Actual pay will depend on factors including education, experience, training, and requirements under applicable collective bargaining agreements.
