About the role

At Nebraska Furniture Mart (NFM), we’ve been hiring friends since 1937—people who share our passion for helping customers feel right at home. As NFM’s Inventory Control Auditor, you will resolve inventory discrepancies, measure NAS codes, perform showroom and warehouse audits, and educate others on inventory procedures to reduce shrink and improve inventory accuracy. You will investigate the root causes of discrepancies that directly or indirectly impact internal and external customers, coach, train, and support internal partners to improve the organization's inventory processes.

Responsibilities

  • Analyze and resolve cycle discrepancies on reconciliation reports and in the POPS system after each location is cycled.
  • Propose cost-effective solutions to resolve customer conflicts and complete or assist with order maintenance steps to take care of the customer.
  • Ensure customers are billed for actual products received when necessary.
  • Audit inventory processes, determine if documented processes are still utilized, and look for root causes of errors to bring about changes that reduce errors, improve accuracy, and minimize NAS and aged inventory.
  • Collaborate closely with internal partners and/or vendors to properly identify merchandise if needed.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or G.E.D.
  • Minimum 3 years of office/administrative experience that included working with exception reports, problem-solving, accounting, or auditing.
  • Knowledge of POPS system including NFM Purchase Orders, order maintenance, and customer account systems preferred.
  • Understanding of theories and scenarios related to even exchanges, credit return memos, and other inventory issues preferred.
  • Machine operation experience or certification on a high-lift within 30 days if necessary for the position.
  • Data entry skills per established department requirements.
