Inventory Control

About the Role

Responsible for maintaining a clean, orderly, and meticulously organized work area, and ensuring accurate inventory counts and material consumption used by all departments. The successful candidate will process bills of materials and create kits of parts—including pumps, valves, pipe fittings, electrical and mechanical components, wiring, and conduit—for production while adhering to established service level agreements. Additionally, this role involves processing expedited orders to support technicians and engineers at customer sites, working closely with purchasing, production, and receiving to resolve inventory discrepancies.

This position requires a highly organized, dependable individual with a keen eye for detail, accuracy, and a proactive approach to challenges.

Responsibilities

• Professional communication with internal and external customers.
• Perform daily cycle counts of products and raw materials, recording data in the inventory system.
• Reconcile discrepancies between physical counts and inventory database, including adjustments and investigations into irregularities.
• Ensure accuracy of intra-organizational inventory transactions.
• Maintain order and cleanliness of the stockroom and work area.
• Verify inventory during receiving, storage, and shipping, including documentation such as pick lists, packing lists, and bills of lading.
• Assist Shipping & Receiving as needed, including matching packing slips and bills of lading for accuracy.
• Coordinate with facility leadership to prioritize tasks and address special situations.

Requirements

• Natural ability to systematically troubleshoot problems, identify solutions, and implement them in a timely manner.
• Advanced reading and mathematics skills, with the ability to follow written and oral instructions.
• Working knowledge of mechanical and electrical parts.
• Ability to read a tape measure.
• Capable of lifting up to 50 lbs.
• Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills for maintaining inventory areas.
• Flexibility to adapt to varied demands, shift between tasks, and assist across different shop areas as needed.
• Excellent attendance record; ability to work overtime as required.
• Strong knowledge of safe work practices and commitment to personal safety responsibility.

Physical Requirements

• Climbing: Ascending or descending ladders, stairs, scaffolding, ramps, or poles using feet, legs, hands, and arms.
• Stooping: Bending the body downward and forward by bending the spine at the waist.
• Kneeling: Bending legs at the knee to rest on one or both knees.
• Crouching: Bending the body downward and forward by bending the legs and spine.
• Reaching: Extending hands and arms in any direction.
• Standing: Remaining upright on the feet, particularly for sustained periods.
• Lifting: Raising objects from lower to higher positions or moving them horizontally (exerting up to 100 pounds occasionally, 50 pounds frequently, and 20 pounds constantly).
• Grasping: Applying pressure to objects with fingers and palms.
• Talking: Expressing or exchanging ideas through spoken word, including conveying detailed instructions accurately.
• Hearing: Perceiving sounds at normal speaking levels and receiving detailed oral communication.
• Repetitive Motions: Making substantial movements of the wrists, hands, and/or fingers.
• Visual Acuity: Close-up tasks such as preparing data, transcribing, viewing computer terminals, reading, inspecting small defects/parts, using measurement devices, and assembling fabrication parts.

The worker is subject to inside environmental conditions, including protection from weather but not necessarily temperature changes, and may be exposed to hazards such as moving mechanical parts, electrical currents, working at heights, high heat, or chemicals.
