About the role
Join SeaWorld as a Purchasing Ambassador and play an important part on our team, helping to procure goods and services that meet the park’s needs while adhering to SEA Purchasing Standards. You’ll work in a fast-paced, collaborative environment, interacting with operational units, vendors, and guests to ensure smooth operations.
Responsibilities
- Procure goods and services while adhering to SEA Purchasing Standards, aiming for the lowest total end-user cost without compromising quality, delivery, or service.
- Work in a team environment, interacting professionally with operational units and vendors as a representative of the buying organization.
- Assist with office duties, including answering calls, data entry, receiving and entering orders into SAP (ensuring accuracy), and other administrative tasks.
- Create, process, and close out maintenance work orders; coordinate park maintenance service calls and dispatch trade personnel from the control center.
- Receive, stock, issue, and deliver goods and materials.
- Communicate professionally and effectively with Ambassadors, vendors, and guests.
- Perform other duties as assigned, including occasionally assisting other park locations and areas.
Requirements
- At least 18 years of age.
- 1 year of experience in a structured purchasing environment.
- Knowledge of purchasing processes, buying techniques, and price/term negotiation skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, handling multiple tasks simultaneously with limited supervision.
- Solid knowledge of spreadsheet, word processing, and perpetual inventory systems.
- Strong analytical, negotiation, and problem-solving skills; organized and detail-oriented.
- Valid state driver’s license with the ability to obtain a company driver’s license.
- Ability to stand for an entire shift, walk, and move freely around work areas.
- Ability to work indoors (with or without A/C) and outdoors in all weather conditions.
- Comfortable working in environments with fumes, dust, or odors.
- Ability to work independently and in a team environment with little to no supervision.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills; ability to communicate effectively with Ambassadors, guests, and leadership.
- Comfortable learning computer-based programs, including Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, etc.).
- Basic math skills required.
- Available to work varying shifts or hours based on park hours, including opening and closing shifts.
Preferred Qualifications
- Working knowledge of SAP applications.
- 1-2 years of guest service experience.
Pay
$19.50 USD hourly.
