About the role
Works in conjunction with the site Operations Manager to maintain accurate inventory levels in their location. Handles all paperwork and follows all procedures to ensure accurate records of all inventories, orders received and shipped, and proper accounting in the company's records.
Responsibilities
- Verify all orders received and shipped and ensure proper accounting in company records.
- Account for defective or damaged products and follow appropriate corrective action.
- Manage and reconcile all cycle counts; perform cycle counts daily as assigned.
- Investigate inventory discrepancies found through cycle counts and determine root cause.
- Pull slow-moving or obsolete inventory for disposal, salvage, or donation, including physically lifting or moving product.
- Process returned shipments by unloading trailers and determining first-quality or damaged inventory.
- Ensure proper written documentation is signed off and filed.
- Participate and coach LTO’s during physical inventories or samplings to ensure inventory process integrity.
- Conduct searches to locate products within the system and adjust records when discrepancies occur.
- Take steps to correct and prevent inventory discrepancies.
- Identify and research unique inventory occurrences to correct them prior to locking a bay or making adjustments.
- Maintain food safety and sanitation standards in accordance with Food Safety Guidelines.
- Follow corporate and site-specific Good Manufacturing Practices; report noncompliance when observed.
- Observe all company safety rules and assist in enforcement as appropriate.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- High School diploma/GED or one year of related experience in inventory control and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Associate degree (A.A.) or equivalent from a two-year college or technical school is preferred.
- Knowledge of inventory management procedures and general warehousing terminology and practices.
- Familiarity with warehouse and inventory management systems.
Skills
- Proficiency in mathematics, personal computers (Excel), and spreadsheets.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Accuracy, thoroughness, and great attention to detail.
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules and procedure manuals.
- Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
Pay
Hourly rate of pay: $22.50
