About the Role
The Inventory Clerk maintains accurate inventory records and supports daily warehouse operations through material handling, inventory tracking, and stock organization. This role requires both administrative accuracy and physical capability to safely handle materials, operate equipment, and maintain an organized warehouse environment.
Responsibilities
- Receive, inspect, and verify incoming shipments against purchase orders and packing lists
- Accurately enter and update inventory transactions in company systems
- Maintain organized storage areas in compliance with company procedures and safety standards
- Conduct cycle counts and physical inventory to ensure accuracy and resolve discrepancies
- Assist with loading, unloading, and moving materials within the warehouse
- Read and interpret shipping documents, invoices, and inventory reports
- Collaborate with warehouse staff to support inventory control and stock replenishment
- Operate warehouse equipment, including forklifts and pallet jacks, in a safe manner
Physical Requirements
- Lift, carry, push, and pull up to 20-50 pounds on a regular basis
- Frequent bending, reaching, and overhead lifting
- Ability to climb ladders and work at elevated levels
- Operate a forklift and other material handling equipment
- Stand and walk for extended periods (up to 50% or more of the workday)
- Perform a combination of standing, walking, and sitting throughout the day
- Involve exposure to dust, fumes, or temperature variation
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Experience in warehouse operations or inventory control preferred
- Basic math and data entry skills
- Ability to read and interpret inventory and shipping documents
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience operating forklifts or other warehouse equipment
- Familiarity with inventory systems or barcode scanning
- Knowledge of warehouse safety practices
- Experience in construction or materials inventory
