Inventory Associate

About the role

The Inventory Specialist manages all incoming and outgoing inventories, ensuring accuracy, efficiency, and alignment with business goals. This role involves tracking inventory movements, optimizing storage and logistics, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to maintain operational excellence.

Responsibilities

• Manages inventory tracking system to record deliveries, shipments, and stock levels
• Evaluates deliveries, shipments, and product levels to improve inventory control procedures
• Analyzes daily product and supply levels to anticipate inventory problems and shortages
• Partners with Logistics Specialist to manage deliveries and shipments to optimize operations
• Communicates with Manufacturing and Supply Chain Operations teams to meet business goals
• Develops business relationships with consumables suppliers and implements VMI when feasible
• Proposes strategies to reduce costs and improve procedures
• Monitors demand and analyzes space planning to anticipate future storage and logistical needs
• Maintains timely and accurate inventory data
• Develops Inventory department metrics and reports on inventory levels and procedural efficiency to upper management
• Receives and delivers special orders to the appropriate departments
• Ensures all part numbers match and quantities noted on packing slips, and follows special storage instructions
• Adheres to all applicable safety procedures and OSHA regulations for material handling
• Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed
• Develops and implements an Inventory mapping system

Requirements

• High School diploma or equivalent
• Minimum of five years of experience in a similar role
• Proficient in Microsoft Office suite of tools
• Experience working with inventory management software and forecasting strategies
• Previously conducted cycle counts, year-end inventory counts, and data analysis
• Familiarity with setting up inventory locations
