Inventory Assistant

“Customer Inspired” isn’t our slogan — it’s our driving force. As an Inventory Assistant, you will play a vital role in the processing and movement of materials within our warehouse operations. You will be responsible for accurately receiving, picking, and fulfilling orders using internal systems and industrial equipment, ensuring operational efficiency and timely delivery. This position offers an exceptional introduction to inventory and warehouse operations, with plenty of room to grow and learn from outstanding individuals in the field. From Inventory Assistant, you will have a perfect springboard into all areas of C Spire and develop robust career skills.
Responsibilities
- Ensure all delivered equipment/material is received within 24 hours.
- Ensure all warehouse orders are completed on or before their need-by date/time.
- Process all open orders daily, including warehouse orders and pick-tickets, according to their need-by date.
- Accurately unload/receive, stock, pick, ship/load, and count materials while using proper safety measures.
- Work functionally in all warehouse areas and maintain flexibility to cross-train and learn new responsibilities.
- Work overtime as needed/scheduled and approved by the Department Manager.
- Be available to support emergency 'on-call' process.
- Become internally certified to operate industrial power equipment (e.g., fork trucks, order pickers, reach trucks).
- Read and follow all work and safety-related instructions.
- Use technology to solve problems and increase efficiency.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Proficient computer skills, including experience with Microsoft Office, especially Excel.
- Previous forklift operation experience (preferred).
- Experience in warehouse/inventory order processing (preferred).
- Warehouse Management System (Oracle) experience (preferred).
Physical Requirements and Working Conditions
- Must be able to lift 20 pounds.
- Must be able to stand, walk, bend, stoop, and move weighted pallets as required.
- Must be able to work at a desk/computer for long periods of time and remain focused on task completion in a warehouse environment.
