Inventory and Purchasing Planner

Responsibilities

• Manage supplier/vendor relationships to achieve company standards of product quality, service, and cost-savings
• Maintain and adjust inventory levels as needed in response to changes in demand or other factors
• Communicate with overseas vendors and coordinate deliveries, expedite and analyze the movement of purchase orders
• Liaise with the warehouse, customer service, and sales teams on scheduled deliveries
• Prepare and monitor purchase orders detailing inventory levels to ensure timely and accurate ordering of merchandise
• Validate invoices against purchase orders for approval to initiate production with vendors on all undelivered products
• Recommend and assist in developing analytical tools to enhance and monitor vendor performance
• Consolidate packing slips and invoices
• Prepare and submit daily and monthly reports as requested
• Communicate and work effectively with other departments, provide support to team members, and perform backup administrative duties as needed
• Aid in all other projects or duties as directed by the Purchasing and Replenishment Manager

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in supply chain management, logistics, or a related field preferred
• 2+ years of experience in inventory planning or supply chain management preferred
• Knowledge of vendor management principles
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite programs with Intermediate Excel experience required

Compensation is commensurate with experience.
